How to practise

  1. Sit comfortably with a straight spine and the eyes gently closed.
  2. Take a few slow breaths to grow calm and centred.
  3. Chant slowly: Om Tryambakam Yajamahe, Sugandhim Pushti-vardhanam, Urvarukam-iva Bandhanan, Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritat.
  4. Keep the voice steady and the rhythm even and unhurried.
  5. If learning, take one line at a time until it flows naturally.
  6. Let the attention rest softly on the sound of the chant.
  7. After the last round, remain quiet and still for a few breaths.
