Date and almond drink is a naturally sweet, nourishing blend of soaked dates and almonds in warm milk, a gentle Ayurvedic rasayana for the evening.

Ingredients
- 3 soft dates, pitted
- 8 almonds, soaked overnight and peeled
- 1 cup milk (dairy or plant)
- 1 small pinch ground cardamom
- 1 small pinch saffron
- 1/2 tsp ghee
Method
- Soak the almonds overnight, then slip off their skins in the morning.
- Pit the dates and chop them roughly.
- Warm the milk gently in a small pot with the cardamom and saffron.
- Put the dates, peeled almonds and warm spiced milk into a blender.
- Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the ghee and pour into a cup to drink warm.
Peeling the soaked almonds makes them lighter to digest. A grounding, naturally sweet drink for the colder months.
